Fire Alarm
Evacuation Fact Sheet
|
When the Fire Alarm sounds, act immediately to ensure your safety.
The Fire Alarm System is designed to provide you with an early warning to allow
you to safely exit the building during an emergency situation.
Here are some do’s and dont’s to help you remember:
·
NEVER ignore the alarm or assume the alarm is false
·
ALWAYS Treat every alarm as if it is a fire
- Just because you don’t see or smell smoke, doesn’t mean the building is safe
·
ALWAYS evacuate the building by way of the safest and closest exit
and/or stairway.
·
NEVER use an elevator to exit during a fire alarm activation
·
ALWAYS move away from the structure once you are outside
·
ALWAYS assemble in an area away from the building
- (We need to make sure everyone got out safely)
·
NEVER block access or obstruct firefighters when they are working
- Safety is our #1 concern - allowing us space to work will be a big help!
·
NEVER re-enter the building once you have evacuated.
- When the building is safe, you will be allowed to re-enter.
- We promise that we will work as fast as possible to resolve the problem so you can get back to normal.
Remember: Evacuate
the structure EVERY TIME the fire alarm sounds; it will not only save your life;
it is required by the state fire code!
